The dairy industry has always had a tech talent shortage. “If it was difficult to find good help before, then it’s even more difficult now”.

Are you intrigued by artificial intelligence (AI), but unsure of how to use it to reinvent your career and power your dairy science to higher productivity and competitiveness? AI has significant potential for automating well-understood complex tasks and it is a useful tool for routine processing of large quantities of data. AI can assist humans in performing routine or repetitive tasks with high repeatability and accuracy. The Institute of Dairy is offering you a chance to understand the variety of machine learning (deep learning) algorithms and how to apply these algorithms for various applications in dairy science. The design of this practical training is guided by industry experts, and you will learn how to use various models to define an AI problem and how to design a suitable AI program.

The course aims to provide the essential knowledge and practical skills to help Dairy/Food Scientists provide more effective and deeper technical insights into the underlying processes when working in a data-driven dairy/food setting. You need to attend the 12 weeks (for full-time) or 24 weeks (for part-time) to complete the course.

This course is intended for professionally trained Dairy/Food Scientists with knowledge or experience working in the dairy/food setting. It is suitable for young professionals, managers and team leaders, and government policy makers who have a passion for dairy and the milk industry.

This course is intended only for professionally trained Dairy/Food Scientists with knowledge or experience working in the dairy/food setting. However, anyone new to a technical role, whether transferring from different professions or having no prior knowledge of dairy technology or dairy/food industry, will be accepted provided they have completed the IODY’s Dairy technology for non-dairy/food technologists course before enrolment.

Course Admissions Requirements

Completion of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. Otherwise, the completion of the IODY’s Dairy technology for non-dairy/food technologists’ course is mandatory.

Completion of the pre-course assignment prior to the course.

Earn a Certificate of Completion from The Institute of Dairy

Participation in the capstone project qualifies you for a certificate of completion from The Institute of Dairy to recognise your knowledge.

Institute of Dairy reserves the right to cancel an upcoming training without further notice. All registrations will be refunded in full.
Cancellations will be refunded in full up to 14 days from date of registration. After this, no refunds will be given. However, a voucher, valid for one year, that is worth the equivalent of the original training may be issued to the participant in the extreme case that he can no longer participate in the training that he had initially registered for due to unforeseen circumstances.
